Man shot multiple times in Napier area, Metro police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A man is critically injured following a Thursday afternoon shooting in Nashville's Napier area, according to officials.

Metro Nashville dispatch said the incident was reported just before 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 along Fain Street.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, a 58-year-old man was shot numerous times outside of a building on Fain Street. He reportedly was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.

A male subject, described by officials as approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall, was seen jumping into a white SUV that sped away from the location.

Authorities told News 2 they cleared the area and did not find any other victims. However, Fain Street is currently closed between Fairfield Avenue and Lewis Street.

No additional details have been released about this incident.
