NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department's (MNPD's) Special Weapons and Tactics and Crisis Negotiator Teams will train inside the Mall at Green Hills Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
According to a Facebook post from Rep. Bob Freeman, the training will take place between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. As a result of the training, the parking area around the mall will be closed. However, Freeman added that roadways around the mall are expected to remain open during the training.
Freeman's post added that Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) equipment will be involved during the training.
The Crisis Negotiator Team is part of the MNPD's Special Operations Division, SWAT and Negotiation Section, focused on saving lives and reducing risk, according to the department's website.
