COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Multiple agencies are searching for an escaped inmate that was in the process of being transported to the Coffee County Sheriff's Department.
Tony Jameson Sweeton, 23, escaped from a transport vehicle while being transported from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, according to a Facebook post from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Sweeton reportedly escaped from the intersection of Highway 127 and Wattendorf Highway near the Franklin County and Coffee County line.
The Manchester Police Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Arnold Air Force Police Base and the Tullahoma Police Department are also assisting in the search.
Sweeton is an inmate out of Coffee County and was due for a Circuit Court appearance on Wednesday. He is wanted on the following charges:
- Aggravated assault
- Three counts of assault on a first responders
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Property theft
- Resisting arrest
- Domestic violence
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
- Two counts of vandalism
- Driving on a revoked license
- Probation violations
- Three counts of assault
- Improper display of tag

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office described him as 5'7" and weighing 155 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes as well as face and neck tattoos. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black and white striped pants.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office added that anyone in the Winchester Highway or Millers Crossroads area should be alert and report anything suspicious.
