Multiple arrests made in Mt. Juliet as police participate in 'Operation Safe Shopper'

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) -- While working to protect shoppers and prevent retail crime on Black Friday, Mt. Juliet authorities ended up taking multiple people from outside the city into custody.

According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD), while conducting "Operation Safe Shopper" on Friday, Nov. 29, an officer spotted a man "showing signs of impairment" in the Lowe's parking lot.

Officials said K9 Citron was called in and alerted law enforcement about drugs in the man's vehicle, which led to the discovery of methamphetamine. As a result, a 40-year-old Columbia man was arrested, but there's no word on his identity or the charge(s) he faces.

"We’re grateful for the dedication of our officers and K9 teams in keeping Mt. Juliet safe!" MJPD announced on Facebook at 4 p.m.
