Light snow moves into Middle TN Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WRKN) — Some folks have seen some snow flurries over the weekend, but we have yet to see anything widespread in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. It looks like Monday will be our first good chance to some snow showers across the area.

A system will move in from the northwest on Monday. Snow showers and flurries will begin late morning for Southern Kentucky folks. Areas along I-40 will see snow begin to fall in the afternoon.

The best chance for accumulation will be in Southern Kentucky, northern parts of Middle Tennessee and on the Cumberland Plateau. It won't be much, but enough to cover the ground in spots. The dry atmosphere will take a bit of effort to become saturated which will be a limiting factor on accumulation.

For most of us, this won't be impactful, but temperatures will be plenty cold enough to lead to some slick spots so be careful on the roads.

This is a very tricky system to forecast, so check back here for updates.

We will also have updates on the WKRN Weather Authority app!
