1 apprehended following pursuit in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A teen was taken into custody following a multi-agency pursuit in Montgomery County Tuesday.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office told News 2 that deputies initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of North Ford and Chapel Street at roughly 5 p.m. However, the vehicle did not stop and ceased pursuit shortly thereafter.

Authorities said the vehicle was later found on Whitfield Road where deputies attempted to stop it again, but the vehicle fled. Deputies then observed a gun being thrown from the window, which was later recovered.

Clarksville police assisted in disabling the vehicle by deploying spike strips, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office added in a press release. Agencies were able to stop the vehicle near Porters Bluff; police said a "juvenile male" was taken into custody and charged with:

  • Window tint violation
  • Theft of property
  • Felony evading
  • Tampering with evidence
  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Violation of the due care law
  • Improper display
  • Possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia
  • Manufacturing, delivery or sale of Schedule VI drugs
  • Possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony
  • Driving on a revoked license

Authorities added that the case is active, saying no additional information could be released at this time.
