NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A new luxury outlet mall is coming to Williamson County.

The new outlet mall is coming to Thompson's Station, which sits just south of Cool Springs and north of Spring Hill. Plans for the mall, called Nashville Premium Outlets, include 75 retailers, restaurants and a hotel. Additionally, there is the potential to add residential options, big-box retailers and more.

The outlet mall will be located at the intersection of Interstate 65 and Interstate 840. Thompson's Station's mayor, Brian Stover, told News 2 the development represents a major investment in the community's future.

"For the town what this means is increased sales tax revenue that will help our town grow," Stover said. "...We're setting forth on the guidance that we are trying to create our first police department ever in the town, so this revenue will help us generate that...Sales tax revenue is what we live off of in this town."

Stover said that sales tax revenue is needed to support a growing population. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau showed an estimated population for the town of 8,580 in 2023. That number is up from the 2020 population count of 7,485.

Real estate owner and developer Simon is behind the project. AS of publication, the company owns and operates both Opry Mills and The Mall at Green Hills. Developers said they're still in the concept stage of the project

"We chose the location because it's on the interstate," Simon's president of development, Mark Silvestri, said. "These types of sites are ideal for a regional attraction like this."

Construction on the 325,000-square-foot mixed-use space is expected to begin in 2026 and will possibly open around early 2027.

"Any time you have a business come in that will allow for new jobs and create a place where people don't have to commute so far to go to work, it's a great opportunity for us all," Stover said.
