NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Motorists were backed up for miles in Davidson County due to a crash that reportedly resulted in at least one death and blocked Interstate 24 East near Harding Place for several hours Sunday.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), the multi-vehicle crash was reported shortly after 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2 at mile marker 56 on I-24. As a result, all eastbound lanes and shoulders were blocked for about four hours, along with the entry ramp.
By 7:15 p.m., TDOT's traffic camera showed motorists driving down I-24 East at mile marker 56, and the icons for the diversion routes at Exit 56 (SR-255/Harding Place) and mile marker 53.4 had disappeared from the SmartWay traffic map.
Based on TDOT's online map, traffic was delayed past the junction with Interstate 40 before I-24 East reopened.

The Metro Nashville Police Department told News 2 the crash was fatal, but there is no word on the number of deaths.
