NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman told News 2 her dog was taken from outside her workplace in Antioch, but the people caught on camera taking the dog said they don't have him anymore, so the dog's owner is seeking help from the community.

Katey Fadler works at a business in the 5200 block of Linbar Drive in Antioch. She told News 2 that when she lifted the back warehouse gate to go outside on Tuesday, March 18, her 2-year-old dog, Biscuit, was following her.

"I was not aware that he had gotten out," said Fadler. "I've been taking him to the place I work at for two years. Everybody I work with loves him; all my friends love him. I don't have any children; he's part of my family."

Fadler went back in and closed the door, where surveillance footage shows Biscuit waiting. Less than five minutes later, a couple in a truck approached the dog, which was wearing a harness. They left briefly to ask a nearby person in the parking lot if the dog belonged to anyone. That individual knew Fadler and Biscuit, but he didn't realize at the time that Biscuit was the pet the couple was referring to. He later told Fadler about the interaction he had with the couple.

Then, the couple returned to where the dog was, this time with peanut butter and water for the pup. After a couple more minutes, the couple drove away with Biscuit, as seen in the surveillance video.

Now Fadler is searching for answers regarding the current whereabouts of her dog, who she said has provided emotional support through the hardest year of her life.

"My dad was actually diagnosed with dementia. We had to put him in a facility back in May of last year. My dad's my hero, so Biscuit's seen me go through this," Fadler explained, unable to hold back her tears. "My meemaw passed away on Christmas morning, and he's seen me go through that grief."

A report was filed with the Metro Nashville Police Department shortly after the dog's disappearance on Tuesday, sparking an investigation.

Fadler also turned to social media, posting details about the incident, a description of Biscuit, and a phone number to contact her.

On Wednesday, March 19, the dog's owner told News 2 the couple in the surveillance footage called her, saying they don't have the dog anymore because they dropped the Maltese Yorkie off in a wooded area near a dumpster where Fadler works shortly after taking him.

After checking local shelters and missing pet pages with no luck, Fadler said she's relying on the kindness of her community to help reunite her with Biscuit, who is not chipped.

"Please show compassion," Fadler pleaded. "I want him back. He's my bubba."

The dog's owner is offering up to $1,000 for Biscuit's return.
