NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has submitted a "letter of interest" expressing his desire to host the 2029 Super Bowl at the new Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
According to Lee, the "world-class facility will make Tennessee the top destination for the nation's biggest events—from the Super Bowl to the Final Four & beyond."

In the letter, Lee highlights the success of large-scale events in Nashville like the NFL Draft, CMA Fest and SEC championship.
Dear Commissioner Goodell and NFL team,
I am writing in support of efforts for Nashville to be the host city for the next available Super Bowl in 2029. As Tennessee's capital and a dynamic global hub, the city of Nashville is uniquely positioned to welcome the NFL for a memorable and successful event.
Nashville is an easily accessible, top global destination with a proven track record of hosting safe and seamless large-scale events like the NFL Draft, CMA Fest and the SEC Championship. Football fans will no doubt enjoy Music City's world-famous honky-tonks, live music, attractions, and restaurants.
The State of Tennessee's investment in the construction of the new Nissan Stadium reflects our commitment to hosting the world's most anticipated sporting event. This thoughtfully designed state-of-the-art stadium, which will boast the closest viewing experience in football, is sure to provide an unrivaled experience to players and fans.

In May 2024, NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell said he thought the Super Bowl could be very successful in Nashville. He also mentioned the success of the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville.
The NFL announced Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host the 2028 Super Bowl, which means Nashville could be next in line.
The new Nissan Stadium is on schedule to be complete by 2027—two years before Super Bowl LXIII. As of publication, the stadium's structure, built with a hybrid of concrete and steel, is up.

In February 2024, crews broke ground on the $2.1 billion project. Features of the new stadium reportedly include: a circular translucent roof; exterior porches with panoramic views of Nashville; improved sightlines for all spectators through a range of diverse seating experiences; and a 12,000 square foot community space available for use year-round.
It’s no secret that we would love the opportunity to host the Super Bowl at the next available date and as soon as possible. However, the decision is ultimately up to the NFL. Last year, we submitted a letter of interest for future NFL events, and we are awaiting further direction. The NFL has a formal selection process, and we have not yet received an official RFP to submit a bid
