GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A man is facing multiple charges, including aggravated arson, in connection with a blaze that broke out at Palmer Market in Grundy County Saturday morning.

The Grundy County Sheriff's Office said Fire Chief Jared Meeks reached out on Saturday, March 29 about a "suspicious fire" at the Palmer store.

Patrol deputies, the Criminal Investigation Division, and Constable Kyle Collins immediately launched a coordinated investigation, which led to the identification of the suspect, Nicholas Callahan, according to authorities.

Callahan allegedly arrived at Palmer Market on a bicycle; set the store on fire during business hours, while people were still inside; and fled on the bike. Officials added that Callahan had "previously been trespassed from the store."

Deputies quickly followed up on leads, allowing them to locate Callahan and take him into custody without incident. According to law enforcement, he's currently facing charges for aggravated arson, aggravated vandalism, criminal trespassing, and other related offenses.

"Thanks to the swift and cooperative work of all involved, the suspect was arrested the same day," the sheriff's office posted on social media late Saturday morning.

No additional details have been released about this ongoing investigation.
