MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A man was taken into custody in Mt. Juliet Saturday afternoon, marking at least the sixth Nashvillian to be arrested this week as a result of Mt. Juliet law enforcement's vigilance when it comes to vehicle issues.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, an officer stopped a car on Mt. Juliet Road near Interstate 40 for a window tint violation on Saturday, March 29, but then he discovered a 21-year-old Nashville man who was wearing a full ski mask and had a stolen handgun. On Monday, March 24, the department said an officer spotted a car with the wrong license plate heading down Mt. Juliet Road toward I-40 West and ended up arresting a 33-year-old convicted felon from Nashville who was riding around with three guns and drugs intended for resale. He was charged with various offenses related to the possession of those items.
Then, on Tuesday, March 25, an officer patrolling Lebanon Road near Lookout D noticed a tag registered to a Ford F-150 was improperly displayed on a Honda Accord, but when he was signaled to stop, the driver reportedly continued for almost half a mile into Nashville before pulling over. Not only did the 29-year-old Nashville man have active felony warrants for fraud, theft, and forgery related to stolen checks totaling nearly $10,000, but law enforcement said the vehicle had methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and stolen checks in it.
Two days later, authorities announced a "suspicious vehicle investigation" in the Pleasant Grove Road area led to the arrests of a 40-year-old Nashville man wanted for felony aggravated assault with strangulation in Nashville and contempt of court in Cheatham County, as well as a 43-year-old Nashville woman with warrants out of Williamson County for failure to appear and Madison County for probation and community corrections violations.
On Friday, March 28, another wanted Nashvillian was taken into custody in the Pleasant Grove Road area. Police said they pulled over a vehicle for displaying the wrong license plate and discovered the 50-year-old man behind the wheel was wanted out of Nashville for two felony probation violations, once of which was related to aggravated assault.
