NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — New images show a piece of the vision for Nashville Yards.
As a whole, Nashville Yards is a 19-acre, mixed-used development. This portion of the plan is led by Nashville-base architects Gresham Smith and Southwest Value Partners. It stretches from Broadway around the Union Station Hotel and behind the Grand Hyatt to Church Street.

Downtown Councilmember Jacob Kupin says he sees this development as downtown Nashville's next chapter.
"My hope was that this injects some excitement and energy, again, into the city," he said.
Kupin sees Nashville Yards as a way to not only attract more visitors and tourists to the downtown area but also locals from around Middle Tennessee.
" We need Broadway, as part of our brand is part of who we are," Kupin said. "But beyond that, what else can we do? And so my hope was that places like [Nashville] Yards become a place that people can come and walk their dog or go for a walk and grab a drink and find a way to engage in downtown and enjoy the downtown Nashville without feeling like they have to go to one particular type of street or type of energy."
The greenway, to be Ascension Saint Thomas Landing, will include elevated, grassy areas where people can go for walks and or eat.
Plus, an amphitheater and a structure for restrooms.
"The question I asked is, 'Do we need another music venue?' And the answer is...this one's different. It's a standing room space with some seated. And it's going to be a place where artists can sit down and set up a couple of days of a residency or do different things like that," Kupin explained.

Another portion of the newly submitted plan includes a new staircase where people can access a flexible event space. The renderings also show couch seating, picnic tables, a bar area and a projection screen.
