A press release from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) office stated that the students were apprehended by THP troopers of Interstate 40 at Bucksnort. The 12-year-olds reportedly saw that the teacher left the key to her 2024 Honda CRV on her desk and took it.
The students were then seen leaving the Two Rivers Middle School parking lot at 2:50 p.m. Parents of one of the students tracked their son's iPad until THP found them just off exit 152. THP took the students into custody. They will face charged in Davidson County Juvenile Court.
