NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A teenage girl is dead and a man is in custody following a Sunday afternoon shooting in North Nashville, according to authorities.
Metro Nashville dispatch said a shooting involving a juvenile was called in shortly before 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 16 from the 2500 block of 25th Avenue North.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said 17-year-old Ebonique Farris was shot in a courtyard at the Cumberland View apartments. The teen was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died.
Officials said 23-year-old Anthony L. Brooks surrendered himself to police at the scene, adding that his gun was recovered. In an interview, Brooks reportedly admitted to shooting Farris during an argument.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, Brooks is charged with criminal homicide and being held in the Downtown Detention Center.
