Teen critically injured after road rage shooting in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A teenager was shot during a suspected road rage incident in Bedford County Tuesday night, officials said.

According to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office (BCSO), the incident took place just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25 in the area of Normandy Road and Highway 41A.

Lieutenant John Sweeney with BCSO said that one vehicle involved in the incident was carrying four teens. Meanwhile, the suspect vehicle contained a man in a white late 1990's or early 2000's Saturn SUV.

Authorities reported that the man shot at the teens through the back window of his car.

A bullet reportedly went through the headrest and struck a teen girl in the front passenger seat. She was then transported via helicopter to an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The suspect in the white SUV was last seen heading toward Normandy on Normandy Road, officials said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 931-684-3232.
