VIDEO: Surveillance footage shows MTSU trailer on its side following Murfreesboro storm

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville's National Weather Service is investigating a possible tornado in Murfreesboro on Monday after a trailer was flipped on its side.

High winds in the area picked up an equipment trailer at Middle Tennessee State University, a spokesperson said. That trailer was tossed on its side and pushed up against a fence at Floyd Stadium.

The spokesperson added that nobody was injured from the storm and no other damage was sustained on campus.

News 2 also obtained video of the possible tornado off Medical Center Parkway spotted on Monday afternoon.

The Murfreesboro Police Department said that they had been providing traffic control at several intersections throughout the city as a result of traffic light outages caused by the storm.

"The majority of the traffic signals are back working.," a Facebook post from the department read, in part. "Cason Lane and Old Fort (Hwy 99) still flashing. Old Fort and Bridge, officers still directing traffic."

The department added that there were reports of trees or tree limbs down in various parts of the city, though city street workers have cleared most streets.
